Bordeaux - City of Wine

The morning started with concerns over the strike of the rail workers in France. I went to the Railway station to take a look at the activities there. Fortunately, there are still some trains running, especially those going to Paris, but not so frequent. The train station was quite quiet.

A view of the commuters at the train station. All regional trains were cancelled and only buses were used.
So, the railway workers went on the street to demonstrate, as the president has delayed their pension by increasing the retirement age.

Went to the town centre and have a good picture of this stature.
The grand thearthe which I have bought a coin for this.
The sign of Autumn with the falling leaves.
The lonely bicycle amongst the falling leaves.
I have last minute booked a tour to the secret vineyard of Bordeaux. It costed 29 euro. The tour took 5 hours. This is one of the vineyards on the way to the one we visited.

This is the vineyard that we visited. The owner is the 3rd generation. They produced good Merlot red wine.
These are the red grapes.

Where the grapes came from.

The vineyard is huge.

Wine tasting - picture taken by the owner. He can also perform magic during the wine tasting sesssion. The merlot is really smooth. It costed 20 euros a bottle. But too expensive to buy.
I am with the many barrels of wine - in the curing stage.

The traditional grape presser - still in used.

The tour included the visit to the town, Saint Emilion

This is the grand church of the town with a lot of history. Do you know the British occupied the city years ago.
In the cave.

Another view of the cave.

The wine shops in St Emilion.

The evening view of the town.
